Luas
Having been responsible for the telecoms package on the initial Luas project, Alltec has worked on all subsequent line extensions up-to and including the latest Cross City Line. We have since delivered major Luas projects for the TII within the electrical, MV, telecoms, and civils work packages.
Our responsibilities are as follows
- Cable Installation & Commissioning
- Approx. 290km of optical & electrical backbone cabling linking tram stops.
- Approx. 310km of local power, control, and network cabling supplying the following services:
- CCTV
- Ticket Vending Machines
- Ticket Validators
- Emergency Phones
- Platform Speakers
- Passenger Information Displays
- SCADA
- BTS Luas Radio Communications
Terminal 2 - Dublin Airport
The Dublin Airport CAN Project was the installation of a telecommunications Fibre & Copper infrastructure network around the campus of Dublin Airport. This project involved the installation of approximately 50km of cable linking all the major comms rooms within Terminal 1, Terminal 2, DAA HQ, Hangar 6 etc.
Alltec Fibre Ltd also concurrently completed the installation of the fibre optic datacomm network, and ancillary sub networks within the new Terminal at Dublin Airport T2. This was the largest construction project in Ireland for 15 years, and consisted of over 10k+ fibre terminations spread over multiple comms locations.

Irish Rail
Nationwide: Irish Rail / Alltec Fibre 2012-present
Iarnród Éireann (Irish Rail) owns and operates a telecommunications network which includes an extensive fibre optic cable network which extends around the majority of the current Irish rail network for a total of approximately 2,000km. This infrastructure reaches the majority of key cities and towns around the country. Alltec Fibre Ltd have been contracted to perform full fibre characterisation testing on these cables for the purpose of commercialising these fibres to interested third parties.
Alltec Fibres scope of work includes the following; confirming the performance capability of the fibre cable, identifying any remedial work that may need to be completed, & achieving independent certification of the fibre on the performance levels that would be obtainable from the fibres which can be provided to support their commercialisation to the market.
